Powerrrrr... muahahahaaa
This is me being dragged. The kite looks small since it's on an 80ft lineset, but it's really a 3.5 meter kite, which equals about 11-12 feet wide
Being dragged some more. Take note at how far I'm leaning back so I don't end up on my face :) This is in a 5-8mph wind mind you. I did get to experience a ~12mph wind this weekend and I almost killed myself. All right!!
A knot in the bridle came undone and rendered me on my ass thinking "oh crap - it broke!" But I was able to re-knot it and all was well again.
Jumping is actually quite an involved technique. It took me a few tries before I learned the secret of getting big airs. This was an early attempt
It's kinda hard to tell how high I am, but I think about 5-6 feet is a good estimate (figuring the camera is at head height of a 5'6" person) Whoo!
This was a nice jump. I learned it's like firing a bow and arrow. You have to fight against the kite wanting to pull you off your feet as long as possible to build up as much resistance as you can before you let the kite pick you up. Timing is everything too - wait too long and the kite will be out of the "power zone" and you'll lose pull.
Okay I'm done with the technical stuff. This one's just WHEEEEE!!! YEEEHAHAHAH!!!
Smilin' at the camera. This stuff is tiring. *phew*
