Loading data files

Before you can display a data window you must load in the proper data file. The Data Generator will not create data files for you, however they are not hard to create. All you have to do is create a blank text file and rename it with the extension .dvb, which stands for Datafile Visual Basic. The Data Generator works with .dvb and outputs in .dat or .cfg for use in the application.

As demonstrated by the image ot the left, in order to load a data file you must click on the small load button to the right of any textbox. This will open Load File dialog box, from which you can select the proper data file.

CAUTION: The Data Generator currently cannot distinguish between data files, so make sure you are loading the proper data file (unless it's empty in which case it does not matter) to avoid errors.

Once you select the data file the path for the file will be displayed in the textbox. You cannot edit it however - it is there for reference only (and because there is no real reason to edit it).
